Thank you for choosing NENC for your natural healthcare needs.  Once you are scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an email with attachments.  Please read all of the attachments, print your forms, and bring the completed forms to your visit.  You will also need to bring a valid drivers license and current insurance card with your name on it in order for you to complete your visit. For those of you with deductible insurance plans, please read our policies and procedures for payment requirements AND FOR A CREDIT CARD TO REMAIN ON FILE FOR BALANCES DUE.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete your check-in process. You will receive a reminder email from the electronic scheduling program that contains a link with directions.  Please call the office if you have not received the email or are unable to open the attachments.  You will also receive a reminder call to the phone number you provided at least two days before your scheduled appointment.

The first visit is approximately 45-60 minutes to complete a medical history intake, review medical records, conduct a related physical exam, discuss naturopathic testing and treatment options and set the direction for your case.  A comprehensive treatment plan emerges over the next 2-3 visits based on additional testing and treatment outcomes that are individualized to you and not simply based on a stamped out protocol.

Once you are a patient in the practice, you remain "Active" as long as you are seen in person once annually.  Your treatment plan remains available to you during that time.  We communicate via email for any practice updates, new services, programs and events.  We DO NOT communicate via email for any medical related issues or appointment scheduling/cancellations.  We DO NOT discuss over the telephone any laboratory/procedure results or new medical conditions/issues that require an office visit to have proper evaluation and documentation in your medical record.

If you have a question related to your current treatment plan or are experiencing possible side effects, we ask that you provide a pointed detailed message to the front desk staff in order for us to best determine how to help you.  If you have issues after the office is closed, the doctors can be reached by phone and an after hours visit charge may apply for lengthy discussions or the need for an after hours office visit.  URGENT AND EMERGENT CARE requires you to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency/urgent care facility.  Our staff does not provide urgent/emergent care services.

We know how exciting it can be to receive Naturopathic Medical Care and that you may have many different issues and ideas to discuss, however, we need to adhere to insurance billing guidelines and time constraints which usually only allows for 1-2 conditions/issues/reports to be addressed during a typical office visit. We understand that if you have driven from far away or took time off from work, this can be disappointing or inconvenient.  We schedule follow-up visits for 20-30 minutes.  If you want additional time you have a few options:  you can pre-schedule extra time in 15 minute increments (not covered by insurance unless we deem this billable and medically necessary) at a rate of $65 per additional 15 minutes of the visit or conduct a telephone consult for 25 minutes for $125 as long as the issues do not require physical examination or coverage by insurance.

If you have pressing issues to discuss, please bring them up at the beginning of your visit. Waiting until the end of your visit will not guarantee enough time to address them without making other patients wait or for receiving thorough consideration of your inquiries. Please be aware that if you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we will make every effort to accommodate you on the schedule when possible, otherwise you will be asked to reschedule and it will be considered a same day cancellation.  This helps prevent the doctors from running behind, avoids rushing through information that requires more consideration and from making others wait which everyone can appreciate.  Thank you.

If you are unable to make that appointment, we require that you call the office (not email) Monday through Thursday with at least 24 hrs notice so that we may offer that time slot to someone else.  We do not accept cancellation calls for Monday after the end of the day Thursday.  If cancellations are not done as noted, a $75 late cancellation/no show fee will be charged  to you prior to being able to reschedule your appointment.
Please bring copies of labwork and procedures done within the past 6 months for your first office visit in addition to any other pertinent test reports. These copies become a permanent part of your medical record.  If you bring the originals and we need to make copies there is a $0.65 per page copy fee at the time of the visit.  For any testing or labwork we order, please let us know if you need a copy sent to other practitioners at the time of ordering.

A Medical Records Release must be completed for you to obtain any copies of your records or for us to send copies to other practitioners once the information becomes part of your chart.  We can only fax reports that were ordered by our office and not information that was provided from other practitioners.  We can fax us to 5 pages of records to other practitioners.  Anything more than a 5 page request will be copied and mailed at a fee of $0.65 plus postage prior to mailing.

You may sign up for direct access to your laboratory reports at MyQuest.  Labwork will only be discussed in the context of an in-office medical visit.
